25 GB Storage
Disk space refers to the amount of storage space allocated to a website and all associated files on a server. Basically, it’s the same as disk space on your computer’s hard drive
With 25 GB of storage, you could run a real estate website, an online store, or a website with user-generated content. Media typically consumes the most space, but you can save a lot of room by compressing your images and videos or offloading them to an external platform like Dropbox. We recommend offloading all of your larger files and files uploaded by users.
For videos, it’s wise to take advantage of dedicated platforms like YouTube and Vimeo. Those platforms can store your content for free, and load them in the background much faster than if they were stored on the same server as your website. YouTube and Vimeo create multiple, compressed copies of your videos so they can start playing a lower-quality version while the better quality is still loading. This is something that won’t happen with self-hosted videos.
By implementing these best practices, 25 GB should be more than enough space for the website’s artwork and codebase. Depending on how quickly your storage is consumed, we may recommend a routine cleanup to keep things running smoothly. If your situation requires more storage, we can certainly accommodate it for a small monthly fee. Contact your account representative for more information.
