Stories are a type of post originally created by Snapchat. Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn have all shamelessly implemented conceptually-identical posts types following the feature’s meteoric rise in popularity.
Stories allow users to share photos and videos to their “Story” — which is visible to followers of the user’s social media account — and to specific users the Story’s sender follows. An all platforms, Stories are ephemeral, meaning they disappear after 24 hours.
Stories are published separately from the photos and videos found in the regular post gallery of one’s social media profile. And although you might know the basics of sharing them, there are hidden tools within each app that can make the photos and videos you add to your Story more creative and engaging.
